Network Share Mounter: Issues
Hi Gregor and RRZE FAUmac,
I’ve recently updated to version 3.1.1 of Network Share Mounter and was happy to see your previously mentioned changes implemented
Now, however, I’ve got a couple of details to point out:
- MDM enabled settings should result in preferences being not only added, but also locked to the setting deployed from the MDM. Currently, the three check boxes controlling auto launch, auto update end diagnostics are till enabled in the interface after deploying a configuration profile that configures these settings, meaning that the check boxes’ state remain ‘enabled’, allowing users to override an administrator’s settings.
- There’s still something a bit unintuitive about the way the ‘Active Directory / Kerberos authentication’ toggle works, given it is unobvious that you need to save the share in for the toggle to activate. [cid:image001.png@01DB8789.25291400] I think it would be more intuitive to allow the user to toggle the switch, after which removing the options for username and password would become disabled or even removed. This would allow the user to be aware of what share settings they’re saving to their configuration.
There seems to be a minor typo in the menu bar app’s menu item related to the check for updates. (moved to new issue)

Once again thank you for your ongoing efforts on developing Network Share Mounter!
